Stinging Nettle
Urtica dioica. One of Nature?s finest and most nutritive green mineral supplements that our bodies know just what to do with. Young nettles are an excellent food plant (cooked or dried only) and a traditional spring tonic. They assist in alkalizing an acidic system. Stinging Nettle tones mucus membranes, is an antihistamine and an astringent, and is a specific for hay fever and other allergic reactions. As a blood cleanser, it benefits most chronic skin problems, swollen joints, and uric acid build up. Eagle Peak Herbals has large quantities of Stinging Nettle growing on our land. We only harvest young, spring-gathered Nettle, as the older plants may concentrate certain minerals that can irritate the kidneys. This plant is included in our Stinging Nettle Mullein Blend, Wind in the Door formula, Wild Blessing Tea, and the Equi-Tone, Llama-Tone and Paca-Tone dry herb mixtures for animals.
