Black Cohosh
Cimicifuga racemosa. We grow this at-risk herb at our farm. It is native to the Eastern hardwood forests and is becoming rare in the wild. It graces our mountainside with its beauty and amazing scent. Both genders may benefit from Black Cohosh’s antispasmodic and nervine qualities. Its use is indicated when dull, achey pain is present in the muscles, nerves, or joints. Centuries of use by midwives, doctors and herbalists attest to its compatibility with women?s health. Its relaxing, hormone balancing effects may ease discomfort associated with PMS and/or menopause. German studies have proven its positive effects on bone strength. Uterine cramps, hot flashes and insomnia have responded well to Black Cohosh.
