Wild Lettuce
Lactuca serriola/virosa. Wild lettuce, or Prickly Wild Lettuce, is ubiquitous around the US and Europe. I even saw it in New York City. Like all of the Lettuce family, it is soporific and is one of the herbs to think of for sleeplessness caused by pain. It has been called Poor Man?s Opium? in the past. Used in the past as well as today for anxiety, pain relief, calming of coughs, and other pain. Young leaves are tasty in salads but it is the mature flowering plant that contains the most medicinal constituents.
Ingredients: Fresh Wild Lettuce aerial parts in flower, certified organic cane alcohol and distilled water.
Caution: Best not to exceed recommended dose. May not be a good choice if you have glaucoma.
Suggested Use: Take 20 to 40 drops three to four times daily in liquid or under the tongue.
